5Durable and FunctionalMar 07, 2011
By Helen Back
This cable is awesome. It is about 10 feet long, which is handy if you want to charge your iPhone or iPad while using it and your outlets are out of reach. Additionally, this cable is very well made. It's about twice as thick as the Apple cable, which tends to fray at the dock connector end if you use your phone or iPad with it plugged in. Since this cable is USB 2.1 if you use it with a 10-watt iPad wall charger it will charge your phone or iPad SUPER fast. The cable is a little pricey, but I think it's worth the money for the convenience and quality.

5comparison to originalOct 24, 2010
By Nancy "Twains"
OK I just got this cord ... today. It is JUST the cord.

I will post a poor image of it ... don't have the time to break out a decent camera ...

I have an iPhone 3Gs ... in comparison to the cord that came with the phone ... this looks perfect for my needs.

The cord that comes with the phone is too short to be much good beyond laptop syncing/charging ...

My phone/cord is about 14 months old and the cord is fraying at both ends. I have to plug the phone cord into an extension cord to reach the wall ... I use it on my desk all day long ... so the cord sometimes is left swinging from the desktop, holding the extension cord off the ground. The weight of the two cords must have caused the fraying ... and maybe the original is not the highest quality of cords?

The new cord is about ten feet long and the cord itself is maybe twice as thick as the original. Sturdy!

See the photo ... the plug on the left that plugs into the phone is the same width as the old cord BUT the plastic casing is twice as thick and twice as long. Sturdy.

I have a soft vinyl/rubber phone cozy thing that surrounds the phone ... the bottom of the cozy has one large opening that stretches a little when the new plug is inserted, it does not permanently stretch it out of sahpe, the cozy just forms around the plug ... if you have a hard shell or something more restrictive it might need to be moved in order to use this because the new plug is twice as thick as the skinny original.

Both ends of the new cord have the same metal connectors as the original, they are just bigger, sturdier plastic casings.

I have plugged the cord into the phone itself, the laptop, the original wall plug cube and all seem to work fine today. I will add to this review if something changes.

I might still keep the original short cord for syncing but any time I plug it into the wall to run off the house current, I will be using this new cord! Most of the time I have the phone working off house current so I thank Griffin for this technology!

5IPad CableJan 24, 2011
By W.S.G.
I am using this cable to charge an IPad. It is much thicker, stronger, and has a higher wattage capacity than the cable that comes with the IPad. This is important since the adapter that comes with the IPad is 10 Watts. I have found that using this cable with the Ipad plug/usb adapter, it charges about three times as fast as with the cable that comes in the box.

4Easily the best cable availableOct 10, 2011
By S. Allen
The cable itself is very nice, thick and insulated.
The length is great, its only weakness is right where the cable attaches to the connector, it should have a much longer piece that sticks out so that the cable can go much further into the connector.
This is our 2nd one, first one lasted about 1 year before the cable just finally frayed and separated away from the connector.

On this one I took my fly tying gear and I wrapped lots of thread around the connector and to the cable making that joint MUCH more solid, then coated it with nail polish.
It is now the way it should have been to start with with no weak points.
I added a picture under customer images to show what I feel needs to be done.

1Won't stay plugged inAug 02, 2011
By Elizabeth Ewing Lee
I purchased this long cord so that I could have my phone plugged in on my desk while I am working. It would be a great cord if I plugged it in and never touched it. If I pick my phone up to do anything, it comes unplugged. Sometimes if I even touch the cable it comes unplugged. It certainly hasn't worked for the purpose that I bought it, and I feel like I wasted a lot of money on simple power cord.
