I have had this for about 8 months and it works great. It charged my iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, and now my iPhone 4GS. I use it with the Apple cord and adapter and never once had an issue with it not charging or not working normally. I am thinking of getting a second one too.

The only problem I have with this is that the casing enveloping the female end of the usb extension is longer than the actual connection itself. Not usually a problem, except when you try to use something like a thumb drive that has a body wider than its usb plug: doesn't sit securely because the casing pushes it away from the metal connection in the female end.

I have been using my XTG Tech. cable for about four weeks and have had zero problems. The cable charges my ipad2 in what seems to be a normal charging time. I havent found a cable of this quality for the same price. I have been more than happy with all of my XTG tech products. The cable does what its says it does plain and simple. Also amazon did a great job on shipping in a timely manner.

Okay, so I should have maybe listened to some of the other reviews here on Amazon about this extension cable and the iPad. I tried it with the 6' iPhone cable I'd previously bought from around here on AMZN and it worked like the original Apple-branded cable (which is to say=great). However, when I tried it with my brand new iPad 2 it didn't work out so hot. Let me explain. I got the iPad 2 on a Thursday, it was fully charged. Being a 'brand new toy' :) I was on it like night and day and by Saturday night it was down to 5% and I thought okay, time to test this extension cable. I connected it to the original Apple-branded iPad 2 charging USB and then into the wall outlet. I let it sit on the bedside table for a little over an hour and when I checked it (It was charging in sleep mode) it had barely moved to 17%...FROM FIVE PERCENT. I thought maybe I had some unrealistic expectations so let it sit for about another 30 minutes (now we're up to about 1hr 45mins) and it still hadn't even reached 20%...Hm.
So I disconnected this extension cable when it (finally) reached about 24% charged and started charging the iPad 2 with its own Apple USB cord and lo and behold, less than 30 mins later it was well above 40% charged (so it charged 15% more in >30 mins when the extension cable took over 2hrs to get to about 24%). I left it charging on its own cable and it was done pretty quickly after that (maybe another 1hr and a half).
All in all I'm a little disappointed with this extension cable. I'll probably still keep it for the iPhone, but what I really wanted it for was the iPad 2 since I knew Apple loves those curiously short cables for the iDevices. Maybe I'll give it another shot when the iP2 needs another charge, but so far it's not impressing me for use with the 'Pad. I'll update with any changes either way.
UPDATE 3/9/2012 (deducted a star):
So, at 10 months this thing is gathering dust on the floor in my bedroom. I don't even bother with it anymore. I thought I would still use it for the phone, but honestly I found it easier to just use the 6' iPhone USB cable I bought here at Amazon with a power surge strip that is strategically positioned close to my side of the bed. Works like a charm and my phone charges quickly like it's supposed to.

Since the original iPad cord is only 4 foot long this is a great accessory. It attaches easily, fits snugly and does not come apart unless you intentionally pull it apart. This is a nice, inexpensive option for a longer cord. I have hd no problems with it.
