What a deal! Apple wanted $199 for a replacement phone. AT&T referred me to a guy who would do replace my glass for $100. I figure if he can do it, i can do it! Huge surprise to see the parts SO CHEAP!!!
I followed two you tube videos to do the installation and it went really well. The only trouble I had was getting the screws back in. Even with a magnetic screwdriver, they're just so tiny.
The description didn't say that it came with tools, but to my surprise, it did! Not really sure how useful the tools are anyway. The suction cup was WONDERFUL and the only other thing i used was the phillips screwdriver. I think it might have helped to have had a better quality screwdriver. Will pick one up next time i see one.
I don't want to give the impression that the job is easy, but it is definitely doable. You need a lot of patience (took me about 2 hours) and it is necessary to follow the videos carefully.
I went ahead and bought the Otter cover, too. The steel one that i had did not protect it from one lousy fall. I think the Otter will.

It's a super easy fix for you're broken iPhone! I spent a little time on YouTube watching two installation videos, and then followed one while installing it, took no longer than 45 minutes total, and my iPhone looks new. Very important though, you should but a home button and replace that at the same time, so you don't have to down the line. I also got a better battery, and a new dock connector assembly. Worth every penny, it's like a new iPhone for about $50 after tax and shipping. Oh, and don't ever rush or guess! always research and work slowly!

On looking at the product pictures and reading some of the more favorable reviews, I'm not sure I got the same kit that everyone else got. I did not get the exact kit pictured. The kit I was delivered did not come with the 3M adhesive strips, for example, which are reportedly superior to others. The strips delivered in my package required more futzing than I've experienced on prior iPhone screen repairs, and did not secure the screen to the case as well.
I also found the back protective sheet to be less than ideal for the normal repair process. It is ideally removed immediately before re-attaching the LCD in order to ensure the glass remains clean on the side that can't be cleaned by the owner. I found some portions of the back protective sheet on my kit difficult to remove from under other components after reattaching the screen to the case. And, the adherent was stickier than with other kits, ultimately making it even harder to remove, while leaving a smudge on the back glass that then had to be cleaned. I'm not happy when I have to touch the back of the glass.
When all was said and done, the repair was satisfactory, but my confidence in the adhesive isn't high, and the time to repair was nearly doubled by all the required futzing. On a postive note, delivery was extremely fast.
