Best Case I have found for protection. It has a flip cover, sometimes in the way, but provides some coverage from weather. Also provides protection from the screen in case you drop your phone. Also a little cushion for the whole phone if you drop. It is a little difficult to touch the edges of the screen, but the protection provided is much more important.

I dislike this case. I am already looking to replace this after just three weeks of ordinary use. A few issues:
- the sueded part (on the inside of the flap and decoratively on the outside front) gets filthy, just from being carried in my purse or pocket.
- The phone is not anchored at the top. I have problems with the phone sliding up slightly and the master button being a pain to activate as a result. Also, it interferes with the camera hole in the back.
- The cover flap has to be held straight up when you want to take a picture. If you simply open the case the way it's intended, it covers the camera. I take a lot of pictures with my iphone and find this extremely frustrating
- The sides of the case are cloth, also picking up all kinds of dirt.
- You can't easily open or close the case when there are headphones plugged in -- you have to finagle the top of the case around the headphone jack.
- The design of the case makes the volume buttons very easy to accidentally trigger. I've turned on the phone a few times after tossing it in my purse to have it unintentionally at max volume.
I bought this to replace the JAVOedge Apple iPhone 3GS/3G Bookstyle Case in pink. That case showed wear on the leather already, but in general it was far superior in design (the phone snapped into a hard shell so there was no movement, the whole front was more easily accessible, all the controls were unobstructed).
I wouldn't buy a similar Belkin case again. The leather quality is fine, and it's nice that it came with a screen protector. That's the only reason I gave it any stars.

I bought this case to replace an older black case, also made by Belkin. The black one has a velcro closure for the front flap, but the pink one doesn't. WHY??? I don't think this was a very good change in design, if that is what the issue was. I would return it, but I actually do like the bubble-gum pink color, and I guess it will close well enough to protect the phone. But that one little piece of velcro would have made it a 5-star product.

I bought this cover for a friend.
Had it delivereded to my house...gift for her, later.
The BelKin Leather Flip Case for I-Phone 3G is JUNK.
Simply put, the 3G will not fit far enough down in the case to allow the cover to close.
The cover flips one the front from the top.
No matter how hard I pushed the 3G Phone down in the case, the cover would stay about an inch open.
I tried heating and stretching it. No good, same problem.
There is nothing to help keep the cover closed (like velcro).
The cover also covers the main round menu button, hard to see where to push.
I threw it in the trash after 3 days of trying to heat and manipualte it to at least close.
So I cannot comment on its durability.
