I was not willing to pay full price for this sync cord. It works just as good as the full price ones. haha. Thanks for the more reasonable price one. :)

5Great chord, cheap price.Aug 07, 2010
By Daeolt
I got this as a backup to the default usb chord that came with my iPod. My iPod? It's the iPod Nano, 4th gen.

Too long didn't read:
I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a replacement for their default, a backup to their default, or as a gift to someone else.
It's durable and does its job.

Background:
I lost the default usb chord that came with my iPod and looked to purchase one off the amazon website. When I saw the price was 30.00$ I came to Amazon. I was shocked on hearing how they made a simple chord so fancy and how they broke so quickly. Or how they even FRIED the users iPod!

I then saw this and figured what the heck. No single or double star reviews, nothing too negative, nothing too fancy. It was just a replica but in a blank paint. So I tossed Amazon a penny and waited for it to come in.

Down to business:
It does what you got it for. It charges your iPod, it syncs it with iTunes, and it isn't slow with its syncing.

The chord is durable, it isn't too weak or anything. The iPod/USB connectors are made with what seems to be the same material of the default ones.

Overall:
It's exactly like the default one, the chord itself is made with a different material but it's still durable. If you bend it or fold it, it won't tear at all really. Hell, this chord is now what I use for my iPod. It matches the colour of my computer and iPod. And hey, it's in better condition.

5Worked greatMay 07, 2010

It's a basic cable. I use it for charging, haven't tried it for synch, but I assume it will work fine. Worth the money, considering all of the iGouge accessory makers out there...

4Works fine on iPhone 4Apr 09, 2011
By Mac Coder
The vendor picture on the product page is NOT of the product shipped, at least to me (twice). I have added a photo on the product page showing the 30-pin end of what I actually received.

The vendor erroneously limits this product to the iPhone 3G and a gaggle of iPods, not understanding that all of the iPhones (so far) use exactly the same USB cable configuration -- if it works with one, it will work with all. USB only has 4 wires, and a USB cable's job is just to get them from one end to the other in the right order. Not a lot of room for specialization.

There is no requirement for any other special pin setup on the Apple 30 pin connector for a simple USB cable. Docks can have issues, but USB is USB is USB.

After a hiccup with a faulty first sample, (resolved satisfactorily by the vendor) I now have one that works, and works perfectly with the iPhone 4.

Note that the body on this 30 pin connector is rather large -- the largest I have seen. It is almost exactly twice the length of the Apple issue connector and most of the white aftermarket clones of it. I can't think of any good reason for (or advantage to) the huge connector body, and it does potentially increase the leverage on the iPhone/iPod connector.

On the other hand, this cable is substantially longer than most -- at least 18" longer than any of the other USB->iPhone cables I have. This can either be a clutter issue, or a wonderful feature.

I like it.

The length allows me to easily use the iPhone while it is connected to a USB charger plugged into a floor-level power strip, while the general run of cables barely make it to the chair arm.

In the car, it is long enough to stash the iPhone on the dash while it is plugged into a charger port near floor level -- not possible with the shorter "standard" cables.

So if you want a longer cable and/or one that isn't soon-to-be-grimy white, and don't want to spend a lot of bucks on it, you might want to give this one a try.

4Does the job.Dec 30, 2009

I was a little dubious because the price/shipping combination make this appear to be a bit of a scam - but the cables were of good quality and work fine.
