I like my iPhone, but I hate the (lack of) battery life. Battery life is great if you don't use the phone, but if you're like me and have 7 pages of apps that you like to use periodically through the day, you need the extra life this product offers. I can usually get almost two FULL iPhone charges out of this battery and I'm always surprised at how fast it charges the battery. I would almost say that it charges the iPhone battery faster than plugging my iPhone into the wall.
The only problems I have with this item are that you have to take whatever cover you have on your iPhone off in order to use it (not such a big deal) and, when it's on your phone, the item is pretty bulky. Overall, these aren't huge problems and the benefits of this product FAR outweigh these minor issues. While one reviewer on this site said it gets -3 stars for aesthetics, I disagree. While the pack is kind of bulky, overall I kind of like how the iPhone looks with it on. To each their own, I guess.
Overall, if you constantly find yourself not using your iPhone to its fullest extent because you are worried about the battery dying and you aren't in a situation where you can charge it with the wall adapter or computer, buy this. It's a great product and definitely meets the need.

We purchased this item prior to a trip to Disney World knowing that the long days in the parks would make it hard to recharge an iphone. It worked great! I would leave this in our fanny pack or back pack and pull it out when the phone was getting down to 20 or 30% battery life. We would slap the BatteryBoost on the phone for about 45 minutes to an hour and would then have a full battery charge again. On some days we actually did this multiple times with no issues. It obviously made the phone more bulky and would not fit in my normal phone case, however I was aware of that before hand and so it was not an issue. You could easily get almost a full charge in the time it would take you to sit down and eat a normal meal. Another nice convienence is that you can leave your phone in the BatteryBoost when you do get back to your regular charger and charge both the phone and BatteryBoost at the same time. This was especially nice while in a hotel room with limited AC outlets available. We had also purchased a 3GJuice charger 3GJuice Black 2.0 1800 mAh/2A DeLuxe Version iPhone/ iPod Battery Charger that my wife used on her iphone and it worked well too. I prefered the BatteryBoost simply because it felt more solid when connected to the phone than the 3GJuice did but we have no complaints on either one. They both performed great This product did exactly what we expected and wanted it to do and we are very happy with it.

I own five other external batteries for my iphone 3gs and this is my all time favorite. I also love the Miccus ChargeBlock External Battery Pack for iPhone/iPod that I use when I'm going out and am carrying a dressy handbag, but for day to day use this battery is the best. For one thing it holds the iphone snugly so that the connection can't be affected by movement in a pocket or purse and it provides excellent protection. Someone said it is ugly but I get many compliments on it. The rubberized back also prevents the phone from slipping when lain on a surface. Another nice feature is the on/off button.

I have two other battery boosters for my iPhone. One takes four NiMH batteries, and us great, but a little bulky and inconvenient to use. A second slips on the back like this one, making it very convient, and has a power gauge so I can tell how much power it has left, but will only add about 50% (for 20 to 70, for example) and needs a mini-USB charger. The Cables Unlimited unit slips easily on to the back, allowing me to keep using the phone, which is great. It also will give a full charge (from 10% to 100% with some power left over). It takes the same charger cable as the iPhone, so I only need one charger with me. However, it has two negatives:
1. The power status only shows fully charged or not, so I can't tell how much power it has left.
2. It is a little bulky, and with it in place my phone will only fit into one of my two belt pouches.
Overal, I'm very happy with it and it will be in my carryon for my next international flight.

I got this because it had great reviews, but I could charge it in the morning and it would have no charge by the afternoon. Since it lost charge faster than my phone, it was completely useless to me. Wish I had returned it while I had the chance.
