Not a USB 3.0 port, but doesn't claim to beMar 08, 2011
By Retro Fan Several reviews claim this device to be under powered to what it claims. Some claim a USB port should provide 1 amp and most USB devices need this much power. None of these claims are true, 500mA is a full power USB port by the both USB 1.x and 2.0 specifications. In the USB 3.0 specifications the power output was raised to 900mA so truthfully no USB port is guaranteed to provide 1 amp. Since 90+ percent of the devices out there are USB 1.x or 2.0 devices, to claim most USB devices expect 1 amp is also completely untrue.
Yes, it is a good point to make that some newer devices will not run on anything but USB 3.0 ports and therefore will have problems on this device. However, most of these devices clearly state the need for a USB 3.0 port in their documentation and this device does not claim to offer USB 3.0 level of power. Overall the device seems to be well constructed and does provide full USB 1.x or 2.0 power levels. And if you need USB 3.0 power, there are some cigarette socket to USB adapters that will do this and those will work on the other outlets on this device. The seller probably should add the current limit on the USB port to the description of the device though.

Amazing buyMay 10, 2011
By Sundogranch For the price you can't beat this...Way better than I expected. I should buy more just to keep in the garage for later. The quality is top notch- the picture doesn't do justice. Product has a very nice face plate & will look good in my truck.

Awesome!Jan 04, 2012
By DHK Just got mine in the mail today and plugged it into my 2011 Corolla. It works... and it powers my GPS and cell phone charger. No complaints with this user!
UPDATE: it does NOT power the AC/DC power inverter when you actually want to USE it. You can turn on your power inverter and it'll be on... but if you have something plugged into your inverter, you'll want to have that plugged directly into your car's power socket.
