I was woried but this thing is greatJun 08, 2010
By Kevin Tanis I read the previous posters comments and I was very nevous ordering this but i was desperate. I use my BlackBerry (8900) as my primary buissnes line. I have tried all the 3.5mm headsets and none of them really perform that well even the OEM Blackbery headsets are marginal at best.
not sure maybe he got a bad headset but I was relived to hear that mine worked flawlessly with great clarity and my customers can hear me without any problems. my test subject mother in law even commented I sounded better with the headset than using the handset.
I'm super happy and will be ordering 2 extra backup headsets just incase something happens to this one.
Thank you cellet for bringing something other than a blutooth for us guys that still like the wire system and at a great price.
NEW UPDATE: Unfortunatly they no longer work with Blaberry's new OS7 system :(

Not great, not horrible.Apr 14, 2011
By Emily Bindiger I ordered a whole batch of these to use in the car and at home. I prefer the over-the-head type headset as opposed to a bluetooth or something that you put in your ear. They're okay, but spotty. Some work, some don't, with some you have to pull the jack out slightly to make the microphone work. However, they're certainly inexpensive enough to buy in quantity because eventually all headsets crap out anyway. I'd say buy at least 3 to make it worthwhile in terms of shipping.

Ordering my 2nd & 3rd ones!Oct 02, 2011
By robert lee Excellent headset! I use them at my workstation and in my car. Only "real" headset without ear buds that has a 3.5mm plug I can find. The 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapters indicate a deficiency in the 2.5mm connection design (pole radius too small?). I have gone through them like chewing gum and have resolved to never purchase anything that uses 2.5mm phone jack connections since it appears likely that I will quickly experience problems with the cord connection. Since I'm not into Bluetooth either, this headset is the only one that hits all of the required targets- windproof mike "great" sound quality, solid construction, no ear buds and has a 3.5mm plug!
I wish that searches for 3.5mm Headsets only yielded hits for 3.5mm headsets. Headsets that require a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter are NOT 3.5 mm headsets! Many of the product descriptions seem to intentionally omit the plug specification. After several years of trying to get decent performance out of 2.5mm headsets, I no longer wonder why the spec is often left out.

I have used many headsets, from cheap to very expensive professional models. This is one of the best I have used and one of the only ones I could find with a 3.5mm jack. Worth every dime... will be buying more as spares.

Pros and consJan 31, 2012
By November Wind I don't think I've ever purchased a product that deserved exactly three stars as much as this one does. Much to like. Much to dislike. Overall, a worthwhile purchase.
First the pros: - It works with my Droid 3! Thank goodness. I'd tried several other products in an attempt to find SOMETHING I could use reliably with my phone. These other products I tried included an adapter for my old 2.5mm headset (audio worked; mic did not), an adapter for my pc headsets (audio worked; mic did not), a bluetooth headset (Motorola S305, which thankfully arrived to me with a broken battery so I could return it, because it was horribly uncomfortable with glasses - tried it on before I returned it), and two different sets of corded earplug-style headsets (they were both a bit uncomfortable, and without volume control, even if I turned the volume down the whole way on my phone, they were still horribly loud). But anyway, this one has the 4-contact 3.5mm TRRS connector plug you need for modern smart phones. - Boom microphone is clutch. People can hear me fine, and I can speak confidently, knowing that I'm directing my voice to the right place - much different than those headsets with the mic built into the cord someplace. - Has a nice clip to make sure you don't yank the cord and pull the set off your head. - Audio is decent. Not superb, but decent.
Now the cons: - The over-head clamp is HUMONGOUS! Nobody has a head that big. It is adjustable, but only to make it larger. If they kicked you off the football team because they couldn't find a helmet to fit you, this is the headset for you. You can sort of position it in different ways so that it sits at a bit of an angle on your head, then move the mic. And I might tie a strap across the top of the headset to effectively make it smaller. On the plus side, it will fit comfortably if you wear it over a hat. I have a pretty average sized head (7ΒΌ hat size), and I can finagle it to sit OK. Also, the reduced tension is convenient in some respects as it doesn't become uncomfortable when wearing with glasses. The down side to the size is the tension isn't perfect so it's a little loose if you jerk your head around. But I do admit - it's more of a mild annoyance than a deal breaker. - No volume control. Seriously, how hard is this? I have to turn the phone volume down pretty low, but at least it's not blasting in my ears like some of the earbud style headsets that also lack volume control. - The cord is super long. If you like a really long cord, then it's fine. If you just want to slide your phone into your pocket while you walk around and talk, the cord is a bit floppy for that. Although, to balance it out, it does have the clip. (see Pros) - The wire is pretty thin. I've been using my headset for about a week with no issues, though I've seen some reviews that reference poor product quality. While I haven't sliced the cord open like I have with other headsets, I'm almost certain what's inside is that cheap-o obnoxious acrylic-coated wire with the cotton insulation woven in. Ugh. (I also tried to solder a number of headsets to connectors to fit my phone - with little success) Anyway, all I can say is, while it probably won't take a significant beating, mine seems to be doing OK for now after a week of moderate use.
Bottom line: I'm happy I made the purchase (and in fact, I bought two to have one handy in both of the places I do the most talking). There are some definite selling points to this headset, not the least of which is you're not irradiating your head with electromagnetic waves while you talk. It's also a cheap, convenient pairing to an Android phone (at least, it works with my Droid 3, which appears to have the 3.5mm TRRS connector that has become popular with a number of newer devices) with decent sound quality and works well with glasses. But that said, it has its detractors, too. I guess you can only ask so much out of a product on sale for under ten bucks. For such a basic thing (over the ear corded headset for modern mobile phones), you'd think there'd be more competition in the market. But apparently not. All things considered, if there can be only one corded headset with a boom mic that works with Android phones, this one is basically OK.
