not very clearMar 20, 2011
By D. Hsu Even though the product description says that this is suppose to be clear, I found that once I applied the protection on my phone, the screen looks very fuzzy and unclear.

Sticky residueDec 11, 2008
By Atta Girl Yes, that's right -- the sticky residue that DLO explicitly claims the surface shields do not leave!! I, too, loved this product, until I tried to remove it. I have just spent an anxiety-filled hour trying -- not entirely successfully -- to clean the gummy adhesive off my iPhone screen. I hope I haven't ruined the phone in the process.

Excellent, but with one catchOct 17, 2008
By Tazz The iPhone 3G has a nice glass screen, but because I put mine in my pocket with other items, I was concerned that it would get scratched. And after some usage, I started to notice the fingerprints and smudges. I needed to protect the screen, so I shopped around for screen protectors. At the local electronics store, I saw these on the shelf and decided to give them a try. And after using my phone for a few days with one of the protectors on, I can describe the product in one word: fantastic.
The DLO Surface Shield doesn't use any glue or liquid coating like some other products, so you don't have to worry about it messing up your phone. All you do is peel off the plastic sheet from its protective backing, and lay it on top of the glass screen. After a little bit of smoothing out air bubbles, you'll have a perfectly flat surface that doesn't get in the way of any tapping or sliding. In fact, I find it easier to move my finger across the phone with this screen protector on it. It also reduces glare, which is a definite plus.
But I did find one catch: the application process could take some time. The Surface Shield is machined to exactly fit the front of the phone. It completely covers every single bit of glass and leaves only the earpiece hole and the Home button open, which means that you have to align it perfectly on the phone or else it will look awkward and leave some bare spots on the glass. It took me about 20 minutes of aligning, sticking, removing, re-aligning, and re-sticking to get it perfect. Fortunately, it's easy to remove the screen as long as one of the corners is still exposed. And during this process, the underside of the Surface Shield could attract dust and sandwich it between the glass and the protector. I had to throw out two of these because of dust. But don't let that stop you from getting these, because once it's applied correctly, it works really well. Just take your time when putting it on.
Blurry ScreenDec 22, 2011
By carolinagirl2001 This screen protector says that it is anti-glare. However, to achieve this they have made a textured screen protector that also distorts the images and text on your screen. This protector makes reading emails and texts on the screen nearly impossible. The best way to describe it is to imagine that your eyes are not in focus...this is what your screen looks like after applying this protector. After testing it for a day my head hurt and I did not even want to look at my phone because of the distortion that the screen protector caused.
NOT TOO CLEARJul 12, 2011
By iPhone Vet I had the original screen protector on my iPhone for about 2 years, the AT&T guy put it on for me at the store the day I bought the phone. It was one that came with the case, and was clear. I don't like the matte screen because detail gets lost. These DLO Shields advertise they are Clear, but they are not. There is this horrible 'screendoor' effect like you see on 'low-end' LCD tv's, but much worse. It made me have to zoom in on text to read, and I wear corrective lenses, so I do have excellent eyesite. I took it off after one day. Hopefully I can find an actual 'clear' protector like my old one! Not a big fan of these!
