This case is a really nice case. I've only had it for one day, but right out of the box it was 3/4 charged. It uses a micro usb cable, that can also be used to sync to itunes when connected to computer, (i just realized) with the recent iOS 5 update, i can now over the air sync my iphone with itunes (via wifi) without having to have a power cable connected to my phone since it's already charging via the energ4 battery case, which makes me appreciate this case a little more, and the case design doesn't obstruct the flash function either, like other cases. Once i fully charged the case, me and my wife went on a day trip and i found that when using maps on my iphone, to navigate, i didnt have to worry about the power save mode and screen going dim/off, since there is a constant power source, which makes it alot more safe when driving, not having to keep turning the phone on etc. all the while, my wife was using youtube and browsing the internet and looking up restaurants. total time that my phone was actually in use was probably about 6 hours throughout the day, and believe me, it was being used extensively. When i got home, my iphone was still fully charged, and the energ4 battery case was still half charged. It takes a little getting used the having the volume/on off/ ringer buttons recessed, but all in all this case is a great value for the price. Way better value than other pricier battery extending cases. Hope this review was helpful.

I like the rubberized texture of this case, which doesn't add extra bulk to my iPhone.
I like that I can choose WHEN to use the extra power, which is double the original battery life.
I like all the extra stuff it came with (screen protector, cleaning pad, micro usb cable)!
Overall happy! Just wish it came in another color besides black.

I have been using the EnerG 4 iPhone case for my 4S (AT&T, black) for the past week and am very happy with it. I plug in the case at night so that when I leave for work in the morning, the 4S and the case battery are fully charged. You can check the charge in the case by pressing a button at the back: 4 blue LEDs mean that it is fully charged, with a decreasing number showing lower levels. One blinking LED means that less than 20% of the charge remains. Charging is with the micro USB that comes with the product, so with the case on, you don't need the Apple charging cable.
I typically have the case turned off during the day, so that the iPhone uses its own battery during the day. When I see that the iPhone only has 20% or less, I turn on the case battery and the iPhone battery level is recharged to about 70%. Of course, you can leave the case on, so that both the iPhone and the case batteries are used together through the day.
The fit is very good, and it is easy to take the case apart if you need to take the iPhone out. The feel of the case is good. The case makes the iPhone slightly bigger, but not to the extent that it feels bulky. In fact, it makes it easier to hold the phone, because of the rubbery feel of the case and the heft it gives to the hand. However, the bigger size means that that standard belt holsters do not fit (I carry it in my shirt or jacket pocket).
The case makes the buttons a little harder to use, particularly for the on/off switch at the top because the lip of the opening prevents the finger tip from making a full contact with the switch; you have to go straight down with your finger to press the on/off switch (suggestion to the manufacturer: make the switch and the camera lens opening into one big single opening, perhaps?).
I have used the iPhone with the case on for taking pictures with flash, and have not noticed any obstruction from the case in terms of the flash coverage, and certainly not in the view of the camera lens. The product comes with a screen protector. I did not install this but only because I like interacting with the iPhone surface directly.
December 1, 2011 edit: Had a little bit of a problem with a frozen iPhone. I could not get it to restart even with a hard reset, so the only option was to let the iPhone, which I had left in the case, drain overnight. The next morning, I found the EnerG case apparently dead, and did not recharge even after several hours of being plugged in! However, later in the day, I took out the iPhone out of the case, and connected the empty case to the recharger, and it started up again. (I suspected that being connected to the iPhone somehow affected the circuity for recharging.) It held a full charge after several hours of recharging and seems to be working all right. So this might be a method to try when the case appears to stop recharging.

I bought this for my 4S to only be used for traveling. Of course its bulky people! I expected that, but don't care as I have a "normal" slim case for normal daily use.
My beef is that it only gives me about 60-75% battery. I pop my phone into the case at around 15-20% and the case drains when my phone is at about 75-85%. I was really hoping to get a full charge.

This is a great product for a low price, the best part is it has an on off switch for charging, so you only need the case when your low on batterie. I have seen more expensive devices that do the same thing but aren't designed as well as this low cost solution.
