5A MUST HAVE FOR ANY HTC THUNDERBOLT OWNER!!!!Jul 02, 2011
By James
I bought the HTC Thunderbolt, and found out quickly the stock battery that comes with it is just pointless. The battery can't make it through 4 hours without the need to be charged. I bought an extended slim which made it through the day, but had issues during the week. One day, it would stay charged pretty good, and the next, by the time I started my route at 9 a.m., the battery would say 95 percent, and by 12 noon, down to 27 percent. So, after checking around on Amazon, I found the HTC extended battery. Ridiculous battery life!!!!!! Cracked it open the morning it came in. The readout was 27 percent. After a full day of phone calls from customers on my route, using the internet, playing my roms at lunch, and just taking random texts from friends and customers, the battery still stayed at 27 percent. Incredible!! Do yourself a favor. If you get the Thunderbolt, just go ahead and get the extended battery. You won't be sorry. I charged it on Monday night, and didn't charge it again until Thursday night after i got off work. After 2 days, it was down to about 56 percent! Worth every penny! Not just sayin that. I drive for a living, and dont have the time to stop and charge my phone. So, this helped me out so much. Just buy the battery. Save yourself the headache.

24G coverage is gone! Get the Seidio 3200mah kit instead!Jul 21, 2011
By Stiletto
I did a good deal of research and knew that the HTC Thunderbolt has its antennas in the rear cover of the unit. So, when replacing the stock OEM cover, it is important that (a) there are antennas in the replacement cover and (b) these antennas perform at least as good as the stock antennas so that you still have the 4G performance that you bought the Thunderbolt for. So I bought the HTC OEM branded product thinking they would do the best job of providing antennas whose performance would match that of the original stock cover.

This did not work out the way I had hoped. The HTC 2750mah battery provided excellent life, I can now make it through a day of heavy use or two days of light use. But using the HTC extended battery cover, I can only get 3G coverage in areas where I had solid 4G coverage before. And yes, the HTC extended cover that I received had the metal contacts in it on both the right and left sides.

I called HTC and spent an hour on the phone with them. After all that, it turns out that the HTC extended battery cover is manufactured for them by Seidio, so they said I needed to call Seidio direct. I called Seidio and they immediately recommended that I retry it using the 3200mah battery and extended cover for the HTC Thunderbolt that is made under their own Seidio label. I did that and guess what? It worked the way it is supposed to! With the Seidio extended battery cover and 3200 mah battery, I got the long battery life I wanted, and retained the same 4G performance I had bought the Thunderbolt for.

Perhaps I just got a bad HTC extended battery cover, but the bottom line for me is that the Seidio 3200mah extended battery and cover worked the way it was supposed to, and the HTC branded product did not. You might want to save yourself the trouble of going through what I did and just buy the Seidio 3200 right off the bat. It lasts even longer than the HTC 2750mah and the 4G works the way it is supposed to, which is a "big deal" since you bought a 4G phone in the first place!

5Awesome investmentJun 22, 2011

The Thunderbolt is my first smartphone and I was suprised with the poor battery life with normal phone usage. I use to have to constanly charge my phone. I kept a charger at the house, one in the car, one at work. With this extended battery now i only have to charge my phone every other night. I'm able to leave features such as GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth on constantly. I recommend this product to anyone interested in a great battery upgrade from the Factory standard battery.

4Fixed my battery life gripesJun 30, 2011
By Damon Hickman
When I got my Thunderbolt, I did think that the battery life problem wasn't being overblown by anyone. It really did die from a full charge in just a few hours with regular use. It got to the point of being very inconvenient for me, and I'm not the type to stop using features just because it uses too much power. Reminds me of the Red Dwarf where Holley shuts down because he's so smart his life expectancy dropped to a few minutes. The candle that burns brightest, burns out the fastest. This new, bigger battery gives me power to last all day (Meet Bob!) with the tradeoffs being 1) I had to BUY it, adding cost to my phone, 2) it makes it heavier, and bulkier, but not enough to bother me. Still fits in my front pocket just fine. And 3) adds a lot of time to charge the phone. But the tradeoff of the longer time to live makes up for that. Charges overnight just fine.

One thing I noticed is that I've dropped my phone, short distances (less than three feet) and both times the back cover came off and the battery fell out. Not good. The battery cover doesn't stay on at all if you drop it, so don't be a klutz like me.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend this for any Thunderbolt users who don't want to struggle with battery life.

5Perfect Fit!Jul 02, 2011
By Nancy A Hawkinson
Easy install. Perfect fit. Exact color match! After a full night charge lasted the whole day with charge to spare on what I would call above moderate usage...games email navigation and pics. I would buy this again!
