Surprisingly Awesome!Jul 29, 2010 I am amazed at how simple and effective this device is. One of the coolest inexpensive and functional accessories I have seen for the iPhone. No, it's not high fidelity. But it delivers acceptable sound. Having it by my bed, I am reminded of listening to an AM transistor radio at night when I was a kid. Well worth the $14 price of admission.
NOT iPhone 4 compatibleJul 23, 2010 Nowhere did it say that it was NOT iPhone compatible but it is NOT. The phone not fitting to the base isn't the biggest problem as it could be effective without a good fit. The problem is that iPhone 4 has a speaker on the opposite side, the right side and placing it in the cradle with the sync cable makes it face backwards if you try to align the speaker to a hole to the acoustic chamber of the cradle. You do need it connected to the sync cable to keep it stay in the cradle due to the loose fit of the phone to the cradle. It does sound better but not like room filling sound like someone mentioned. Don't expect a Bose speaker quality sound.
Great for travelJun 28, 2010 Great for travel so you can cradle your Iphone as an alarm clock. Much better than fiddling with hotel alarm clocks. I have one for my desk at work where I have to play my music at a low, low volume. The second one that I purchased is for my side table and as my new traveling companion. An additional purchase of a longer charge cord might be necessary. I just picked one up at an office megastore. ....also good for traveling! Doesn't produce high quality sound but that isn't what I wanted. Just want to hear my text msg alarm and to increase ring volume when outside of the docking room.
WOW!Jun 15, 2010 WOW.......Wow....wow
what else can i say. i was looking for a wak to increase the volume of the messages i get on my iphone and this does it perfectly. the increase is enough that i wake up and here the page. in a perfect world there would be something that could make it louder or heck we could even change the the message itself but not for now. FOr now this fills the need i needed perfectly.
I am thinking of buying another for work.
Perfect space saving low-tech "speaker"Jun 14, 2010 We live on a boat and have found these to be marvelous for our lifestyle. We have three now, maybe need another! They are small, inexpensive, have nothing that will break--just the way we like it on our boat. The sound is not full, it is more like an old radio, so sweetly nostalgic and just fine for a small space. My husband uses one when he travels so that his iPhone will act as a an alarm-clock and radio without flopping around beside the bed.
Try it, it's a cheap experiment--you may find it's just the thing for your lifestyle to have something uncomplicated that does the trick.
