Suitable replacement batteryApr 29, 2009
By M. Dugas Its always tough finding a proper replacement part for any electronic item, especially something as expensive and particular as the iPhone. This item is an adequate replacement for the factory 3.7V 1400mAh battery.
I ordered 2 of these replacement batteries (one for my and one for my wife's iPhone). The shipped quickly and were received by US Mail within a few days.
Once received, I set about to cracking my phone open and replacing my battery. I obviously don't recommend any of this unless you're mildly mechanically/electronically inclined, and can solder.
From start to finish, took me about 20-30 minutes to replace the battery. I tested it, reassembled and put it on the charger for a full charge. Today will be the first "full" day I can put it through its paces to see if there really is an improvement, but so far its looking promising.
Good folks to buy from, and a quality product - if you're looking to replace your own iPhone battery and save some money, work with these folks.

I have had two replacement of this battery, the battery does not hold its power. i have 2g 8gb iPhone and left it alone for a day within 12 hours i needed to have the iPhone recharged. This is worst than my old battery.
The company has been good in providing solutions to this issue. they said they will be refunding me. will wait for this refund.

Nice battery.Jan 11, 2010
By J. Hughes Great, cheap replacement battery. Shipped quickly. I'm fairly mechanically inclined so installing the battery was not a problem. However, it's not for the faint of heart or the non-technically inclined. I've been using the battery for a few weeks now and it's still holding a great charge.

So far so good (but not a simple process) ...Dec 23, 2009
By Eric Mclaughlin Product arrived quickly via USPS from eForCity. Battery fit perfectly in my 1st generation iPhone and all is working so far.
Be warned though -- installation of a replacement battery in the original iPhone is not a simple process. It will require soldering three tiny little wires, in addition to all of Apple's usual hair-pulling, 'Chinese puzzle box' steps to open the iPhone. Tools provided in kit worked well, though I supplemented these with a tiny flat-head screw driver I already owned to help open the case.
No instructions came with package, but I found a great Bleeding Edge TV 190 video which walked through the process in step-by-step detail. Overall, I found the two-hour replacement process - even with the soldering - a bit easier than a similar battery replacement I did a few years back on a 3rd Generation iPod. If done with care, your iPhone will show no scratches or other evidence of the replacement effort.
If you are handy, very patient, and have great eyesight, this replacement battery should be what you are looking for.

Good Battery - Extremely Hard InstallationFeb 22, 2011
By Surfrider91502 I have the original iPhone 2G 8GB. It's over 3 years old but still a great phone and is still solid as a rock. I've never had a single problem except for the battery life slowly dying - which is typical for any battery powered electronic device over 3 years old. I'm looking to either get the iPhone 5 or an Android-running 4G LTE smartphone when I switch to Verizon, so I wanted to hold out and milk this original iPhone for all it's worth.
I didn't want to spend the big bucks on getting the battery professionally replaced because that would cost over $60 and that was not an investment I was willing to make knowing I would be upgrading in the next 5 months. I began looking into self-installations and everything I read pointed at it being an extremely difficult installation. I decided I would try anyway and found this cheap battery. I figured, if I break the phone, I'd just use my old RZR 'till I upgrade.
All that said, THIS BATTERY REPLACEMENT IS EXTREMELY HARD and should NOT be done by any amateur. I'm an IT professional and it still took me over an hour to complete. You will need to have experience in small wire soldering (not to mention actually own small wire solder gear.) Taking apart the case is one of the most tricky parts and will damage the edges no matter how delicate you are.
THE SCREWDRIVER AND PRYING DEVICE ARE USELESS. The screwdriver didn't fit the screws of the phone and the prying device is cheap plastic which has no hold against the tough iPhone case. You will need to make sure you have a micro screwdriver set before beginning the process if you so choose to take it on.
If you have ANY hesitation about doing this self-installation, you should send it in to have it professionally replaced. Just to put a little more fear in you, if you touch the red wire to the black or white wire, you short the battery and it's dead. If you solder the wrong wire to the wrong post, you short the motherboard of the iPhone and the iPhone is completely dead. Once open, there are tiny antena wires and data ribbon cables. If you break any of those, you might as well toss the phone in the trash.
ALL THAT SAID:
1. Battery replacement has made my iPhone feel like new - and I can now wait out the time to upgrade. Battery has been running great after the initial charge.
2. Battery came with only 10% charge. This is unacceptable and should be more like 40%-50%.
3. I would recommend this for any advanced electronic person trying to squeeze out the last few drops of their original iPhone.
Here are the instructions I used for my replacement. I suggest studying it and watch a couple videos before beginning - or decided about buying...
