Today mine broke after 4 months because of user error. I broke the clip by bending it against a seat while getting in to a car. Anyhow, I plan on replacing it because despite it being true that it was really hard to get the phone out quickly (which the guy at Verizon had on on his blackberry and it slipped out easily - which is why I got it for my droid X) but after a while it gets faster as essentially you break the holster in. Mine slips out just as fast as the one I saw on a different phone, so be patient. As for durability, I have sadly dropped my phone a few times and the protective cover has done its job with no damage to the phone. The worst drop I did was into a snow bank, and I removed the cover quickly and the phone recieved no damage. I dried the cover and parts of the phone (I do have a screen cover as well) that had gotten wet. The majority of the water was on the cover and not the phone.
This also works great for exercise as it keeps my phone in place while I run.

I wanted something much more sturdy than the soft leather/vinyl cases to protect my investment. I've had it for about two months and am very pleased. This is a very sturdy case that attaches securely to your belt or pocket and is much cheaper than most other holsters. I noticed that one reviewer had a hard time getting it out of the case. I have no problem at all with that. You just grab both sides of the holster with your fingers and push up on the bottom exposed corner of the phone cover and it slides right out. Can't beat it for the price. Minor issue-- when charging you can't pull the phone out of the holster without pulling out the charger. Since I'm usually sleeping while it's charging it's a very minor issue for me.

with extended battery and battery door you'll need to make adjustments or you will put to much pressure on the touch screen! I found this out, through a friend and saved myself lots of heart ache. He was returning his defective phone so I had time to play with it. I thinned down the corners and area that the holster side edges gripped the hard shell and heated the holster arms to help stretch them. I'm only talking about .025 inch diff, but enough to allow easy in and out of holster.
easy in and out, if your shirt is untucked you'll need to learn to clear the holster so you don't pinch shirt tails between phone and holster. Top button has no protection, so be aware of everything that you might bang into at hip level. I hae jumped in and out of a semi truck for several days and it stays put. Does not accidentally turn on. Screen, with a good protector, is pretty safe from damage.
Hard case allows for access to everything but battery and SD card below, with computer cable you can sync with computer not needing to take SD card out.
For the price, i'm very happy.

This device offers good protection. However, getting your phone out of the holster is difficult you would have to use it alot for the phone to be able to slide it out easily at some point, I tried pulling mine in and out to accelelrate the process but it did not work for me. The belt clip on mine broke off. I had it less than a year. If you want to answer your phone quickly while its in the holster you will be frustrated. In my view this case is not very functional.

Overall the case was very nice and well made. It fit nicely on the Droid X. But be careful when turning the clip on the back as it may break on you over time.
