5A direct replacement battery that has been problem free.Mar 03, 2007
By Reader
I purchased this Li-Ion battery as a direct replacement for my original Motorola cell phone battery, and I have not been disappointed. Physically it appears to be an exact match. It fit the cell phone's battery compartment exactly, it charged using the original charger, and it holds its charge. I've had no problems with this replacement, and have left it in the phone since purchase. In summary, I have been pleased with both its performance and price.

3Check the Battery Date and Cell Origin!Feb 09, 2010
By Karl F. Barndt "marketing geek"
I bought three of these from two different vendors (BargainCell and The OEM Shop) for my RAZR V3.

The first (from The OEM Shop) arrived quickly and had a manufacture date of March 2, 2008. The cells were made in Japan and assembled in China. This battery has been perfect, allowing call times of several hours and a standby time of nearly a week.

The second (from BargainCell) arrived and was the wrong battery, too long to fit my RAZR V3. I used Amazon's contact form and BargainCell responded quickly. They sent me a replacement battery and a shipping label to return the wrong one. Good customer service.

The replacement battery from BargainCell was dated March 8, 2007 (a year OLDER than the OEM Shop battery). The cells were made in China and assembled there. This battery has been a disappointment, with call times of less than one hour and standby times of less than three days.

The third battery (ordered from The OEM Shop when the incorrect Battery came from BargainCell) and was dated May 20, 2007. The cells were also made and assembled in China. This battery has had similarly disappointing performance to the one from BargainCell.

Like other reviewers, I've come to the conclusion that the age of the battery has a major impact on the performance of the battery. Also, I am suspicious of cells made in China, versus Japan. My experience with rechargeable lithium camera batteries also suggests that Japanese cells are superior to Chinese ones.

One last note: Two of the cells had marks on the locking notch at the top of the battery (where a tab holds the battery in the phone), suggesting that the cells had been removed from a phone. One of the three batteries had sticky glue on it, too. I wonder if these batteries were pulled from used phones.

That would explain the cheap price.

Overall, I'd say buying these low-priced batteries is a crap shoot. You might get a good one, but odds are more likely that you'll get an older battery with a limited lifespan.

5Great replacement battery for original V3 and V3i iTunes!Dec 14, 2009
By alexanderaku
I have one of the first V3 cellphones ever offered by Cingular. The original battery had almost totally died two years back, but there was nothing what so ever wrong with the phone itself.

When I decided to hold off for lower cellphone prices, when my AT&T Tilt began acting up, I decided to just put my 2005 V3 back in service - and bought this battery through Amazon from "The OEM Shop" to power it. The battery has 70 millamperes more power than the original, and after about two recharges I had no trouble noticing the old V3 had better standby and talk times than the original battery ever offered while in use around my home.

After about two weeks, prices dropped and I bought a new Tundra for the 3G capabilities alone - until the 2010 cellphones start appearing (I use AT&T Navigator - a 3G service). I also keep a family member supplied with a more recent V3 phone - a V3i iTunes phone I gave them several years back. That phone was still working well with its original BR50 battery supplying good standby times. But since I no longer needed my V3, I swapped this new battery into their phone. Within a few days they commented the phone was now staying charged much longer, whether in standby, or calls and browser use - even longer than it had originally with the factory supplied BR50 battery.

Rest assured, this new SNN5794 battery was sealed and factory fresh as received. Its designation is BR56, and it is a Motorola battery and not some cheap knockoff with poor performance. The old V3? Well, it's sitting idle once more until needed again. I never buy the monthly insurance, and won't so long as I always have a good cellphone I can fall back on. If needed, I'll buy another of these batteries. They want $40 for the less powerful ones locally. There's no doubt where I'll buy again. The purchase experience with this product has been excellent, and proves it pays to shop wisely.

***NOTE***

While more powerful than many others, this battery doesn't require replacement of the OEM battery door. (my OEM V3 battery was 710 millamperes and the OEM BR50 in the V3i was 760 millamperes)

4Ordered SNN5794A Battery Received SNN5777A BatteryJan 30, 2010
By S. Bennett
Ordered SNN5794A 780 mAh battery as indicated on web page and received SNN5777A 740 mAh battery instead. The date on the new battery is three months older than the original SNN5794A battery shipped with my V3m phone back in 2006. So far the new battery is holding a charge for several days, however the talk time appears to be slightly less than the battery it replaced. Also the USPS shipping was more than the battery itself, but I did receive it within a week of placing the order. Overall the battery appears to be working well and the price including the cost for shipping was right compared to the $20+ that my provider wanted for a replacement battery.

5Excellent BatteryApr 18, 2009
By C. Goebel "Joe Consumer"
I needed a new battery for my wife's MOtorola V551 cell phone. Her old one would not hold a charge for more than a day.

The local battery store here wanted 4 times as much for a new battery. I purchased this one for less than ten dollars, including shipping!

This battery is OEM and as such, is exactly like the one that came with her phone. Fit perfectly, and has thus far worked like a charm.

Normally, her original battery would be showing only one charge bar after about 20 hours, and would start "beeping" to be charged within 30 hours. And that was while sitting idle. She rarely uses the phone. If she actually used it, it was even worse.

After the initial charge, we unplugged the charger and timed how long it would last. Four days later, it was missing only ONE charge bar (remember, she rarely uses it). And this was on the first charge. You're supposed to cycle these things a few times before they hit their premium operational capacity.

We let it charge and discharge a couple times, and now, it will go for a good six days with little use, and easily four or five days with several phone calls before it needs to be charged.

I am very happy with this battery. For the price, it has exceeded my expectations, and has worked exactly as advertised.

The company I bought from (Eforcity) shipped the battery quickly, and I had it in 3 or 4 business days (sorry, don't remember exactly but it was fast for standard shipping).
I received good e-mail confirmation and contact from Eforcity, and I would do business with them again.

Overall, this is an extremely good product for the price, and I am even happier with it than I expected to be.
