Great Bluetooth!May 09, 2011

"desertdog"
Just got this a few days ago, but so far I am very impressed by it. Charged it up in the house and it immediately connected to my phone. I leave it on in the car and it immediately connects when I get in--even faster than the "built-in" bluetooth on our other car. The sound is good--people have no problem hearing or understanding me while I'm driving in the car, and I have no problem hearing callers. Love the voice commands--I can just say "answer" and don't have to reach up for the button to answer calls. It also automatically connected to my phone's contact list so it tells me who is calling if they are on the list--otherwise just the phone number--and I can say, "Call Roy" and it does it! Now that's real "hands free". So far the battery seems to last well. I've had it on in the car for 3 days and the battery is still "high" (I never turn it off). I don't use the FM connection, nor do I stream music from my phone through it, so can't comment on those functions. However, I can't imagine that this speaker could reproduce music as well as the car's sterio system. I bought it strictly as a Bluetooth speaker for my cell phone for hands free receiving and placing of calls and it is doing that beautifully!

Great BT speaker phone but with small issuesOct 08, 2011
By sdsuman96 I just got this thing so my review is very tentative, so far I am very pleased as people can hear me very well and I can hear them. Infact I am using a Evo 4G and I actually have to lower the speaker volume cause its so loud, so thats a plus. Another reason I lowered the volume was that at high it does tend to give out unwanted vibration and its annoying. The text to speech is so far a hit and miss, its 50% right and about 50% wrong but I think it has to do more with the app from Android than the product itself so Moto has to update that app and from what I can see many people feel the same way as lately the ratings have crashed. That said I am very pleased with the Moto so far and now have to see if with updates and fine tunning the BT gets not so much better but more relaible. My second concern is life span as I have ready some reviews that within a few months the thing dies so hope those were just bad batches. Other features I love is the auto off/on feature that way I won't be the one doing that because I would forget most of the time and bettery life would go out the window. This thing also has media play so you can listen to Pandora or other stuff through it as well as the radio feature to listen through your car speakers. I have not tried those nor do I plan to as I just wanted a BT that works I have all those other features built into my stereo already. Last but not least another great feature I love about this BT unit is voice recognition as when a call or text comes in all I have to do is say answer or read and its cool. To end I would have given this thing a 5 star but issues with the text to speech and speech to text (which is one of the reasons I bought it) I had to lower until they fix or make more reliable.

What you REALLY need to know and others forget...Aug 04, 2011
By BigGuy Okay,
So I read the reviews about the Roadster, and some people really do not get it.
Let me start by saying that if you listen to music through this device and through your FM dial on the radio, you can, and will run into a problem. People forget, you need an empty FM station. If you drive, you just might run into a station that you are unaware of. In that case the Roadster and that station will be fighting for that airspace on your radio, and who do you think will win? The radio station with 10-50,000 watts of power or the 3 watt Roadster? So when you read that it sounds horrible, what do you think? Yes, you may need to adjust your radio and the Roadster so that you have a clear channel. Also, keep in mind in more urban areas, there is less and less empty space on the FM dial.
Does this work as a hands free device? Well yes and no. Do you have to manually hang up the device? Yes. Is the sound quality great, no but it is a speaker phone. I use mine all day making and receiving calls and it works fine. You will never get the sound quality of a car that has a built in Bluetooth system, but even those have their glitches. This is an inexpensive option for you to have if you drive a lot.
I feel it does a great job for what it is. The only thing I would like to see is a little bit better battery life, but I am being picky.

Perfectly satisfied with it and I know it has made me safer.Nov 08, 2011
By BH I bought this device strictly for answering my phone while driving. It has been a pleasure to have and to use! When I enter the car it automatically wakes up and connects to my cell phone. When a call comes in, you say "answer" and you are connected and can talk freely and still keep your eyes on the road. I really recommend this product and have recommended it to other family members.
