The description says "NEW OEM MOTOROLA SNN5789 BZ60". I ordered 2. Both were obviously well used and manufactured in 2008. They looked worse than my original battery from 2007, but they are holding a charge. Only time will tell how "new" they are. If you truly want a new OEM battery, shop elsewhere. However, at these prices, I'd recommend ordering a few and take your chances. So I'd give 1 star for false advertising, but 4 stars for overall price + value.
FYI you can read the date code on the back of the battery, or use the following decoder:
- The year code of manufacture is located on the 9th position from the left. On the sample above, it a P which indicate it was manufactured in year 2005. M is 2002, N is 2003, O is 2004, P is 2005, Q is 2006, etc.
- The week code is located on the 10th and 11th positions from the left. A is 0, B is 1, C is 2, D is 3, E is 4, F is 5, G is 6, H is 7, I is 8, J is 9, K is 10, L is 11, etc.

Good deal, but hardly "New"Nov 12, 2010

I've had this for seven months and it was a good deal (under $10 bucks, shipped) and it freshened up my V3xx. However, calling this "new" is misleading. The battery was obviously used before I got it. I'm sure of it because it had marks on it caused by inserting and removing from a phone, and there was even the little pieces of lint on it that tend to accumulate on the inside of the battery compartment during use.
If you are looking for new merchandise, as in "new, never used by a consumer" -- the only safe bet would be to purchase sealed retail packages. In the online cell phone parts business, sellers often call returned loaner and demo phones "new". I'm guessing that the battery I received came out of a program phone or something like that.
That being said, I still would rate this purchase four stars because the battery was cheap enough and breathed some extra life into my trusty V3xx.

bought this for my wifes razr because she was only getting about 30 min of talk time,but with this battery she is back up to around 3 hr well worth the price.Thinking of getting another to have on hand if we decide not to get a smart phone!!
