Does not work with my phone/headsetJul 15, 2010 I have a Nokia 6301 cell phone and bought some skullcandy stereo headphones that included a built-in microphone. The headphones have a 3.5mm male connector and the nokia phone has a 2.5mm female connector. This adapter does not solve my problem. When plugged in all the way the sound is muted and fuzzy. If I pult the male end part way out I can hear clearly in one ear, but this means i have to hold onto the connectors so they are lined up just right. Not an ideal solution. The microphone in the headset does not work at all.
Doesn't work for Nokia 1661May 08, 2010 The website information stated this adapter works for the Nokia 1661 phone. Not true. If you insert the jack completely into the phone you only get one channel, in one ear. You can get both channels by pulling it partly out but this is not how this product should work.
Compatible with Nokia 6350Apr 03, 2010 I have an ATT Nokia 6350 phone. This adapter works great with my normal headphones. I get true stereo output. Not sure how it works as far as a mic is concerned, but for playing music, works like a champ.
not for nokia E71Mar 31, 2010 nokia says, that this works with the E71, which it doesn't ! you have to pull it out a bit and then just have mono sound.
Does not work properly for all Nokia phones.Mar 02, 2010 After searching for WEEKS to try to find a proper audio adapter for my new Nokia 3711 I figured this one would be a safe bet since it IS Nokia brand. I should have known better after Customer Service(after giving me the runaround for a few days) told me they don't have an adapter compatible for my phone yet. I figured a 3 ring adapter is a 3 ring adapter..and the headset that came with the phone is a 3 ring plug. While it sits in the phone perfectly and the headphones plug into the adapter perfectly..only one headphone works. I tried them with my Plantronics PC gaming headset and $80 (that I got for $20) Altec Lansing earbuds.
Since it was sent through USPS I'm probably going to send it back since shipping will probably be fairly cheap. I rather be out a couple of bucks for shipping then out $9 for an adapter that doesn't do what I need it to do..and will probably get lost because of it.
Tomorrow I'm going to bring my phone and earbuds with me to Radioshack and see if a 2 ring adapter will work for it. I don't need microphone support...I just need audio support so I can use headphones and so I can plug the phone into my car radio's AUX input.
Honestly..I don't even know why phone companies just don't put a standard-size 3.5MM jack on these things. If the new 5130(that was faulty the same day I got it) that I got before this phone was built better(and could use a larger card than a 2GB) I would have traded it in on another of the same model..at least that thing came with a 3.5MM jack.
