Otter box defenderJun 29, 2011
By Chip chipperson Great product at one he'll of a price. $16 on amazon or $55 at best buy. Very rugged case I wish otterbox made a case for everything I own! The built in screen protector is unreal as there are no air bubbles and hasn't scratched. The frame is tough and the silicone skin fits snug and stays in place and makes excellent contact with all the bittons o. The iPhone.
Only down side is people comment on how much bulkier it makes the phone. This does not bother me as I have large hands and find the phone much easier to hold and feel like there is a lesser chance of it slipping out of my hand, but I'm confident should it fall the case will absolutely protect my device.

Very protective caseJul 19, 2011
By Setesh ***Edited 7/31/11. See edit at bottom*** There are so many reviews on this case I won't go into detail, but here are the highs and lows:
Pros: Very protective Built in screen film Covers all ports Film to cover Apple logo on back Camera is unhindered Looks decent for its bulk Comes with belt clip Belt clip holds phone securely
Cons: Adds a lot of girth If you use headphones you will constantly have the port cover open and in the way Rubber is so grippy that it pulls your pockets inside out when you remove your phone and makes it harder to get into your pocket
I don't worry about my phone at all with it in this case, this thing is pretty much a tank! If it wasn't for it turning my pockets inside out every time I removed it from my pocket I would give it 5 stars
***EDIT*** I finally took a razor blade to all three of the hinged flaps on this case (headphones, toggle, charge port). They were annoying me to the point where I was going to have to get another case otherwise. The headphone flap inevitably pulls the top part of the case out of alignment when used and the other two were just very annoying to have in the way all the time. I can't tell you how much time I spent opening/shutting the flaps and realigning the case because of the flaps. I finally got fed up and took a brand new razor blade, placed it in the groove (hinge) of each of these flaps, and pressing down onto a cutting board made a nice smooth clean cut. Now it's much better. I know it won't keep stuff out of the ports but now it doesn't annoy me either so it's worth the trade off to me.

Beats The Competition!Oct 20, 2011

This is what you need to protect your new iPhone. Most other stores, particularly Apple Stores will charge well over fifty dollars for a similar style. The Otterbox Defender has a multi-layer of protection, including a clear membrane for protecting against scratches, a hard shell around the phone that splits into two pieces and a silicone outside cover. The holster clip is tough and durable, but I don't like parading my iPhone around in public. Even with the case, it fits easily in your pants pocket. This device is the best protection you can buy for your iPhone 4 or 4S. Just compare prices. Considering what you paid for your phone and your monthly service commitment, you don't want to not have this kind if protection. Apple does provide an annual fee for protection against drops and water now, but it's expensive. The only drawback is on the top where the headphone jack is located. The silicone membrane hole is in the wrong place, so you have to open the flap. Otherwise, I am very happy.

Great iPhone 4 armorAug 05, 2011

Great case for the iPhone 4. Doesn't add to much size (considering amount of protection), and seems to be well constructed. I've used it for about a month and so far I am impressed. I would like to see a cheap source for replacement belt clips, as my past experience with similar clips (although not made by this company, same type of plastic) shows that they will break eventually. This is by no means a criticism of the clip, as it sees the stress from bumps, belt snags, seat belts, and 20 times per day hooking onto/off of belt. Unless made of steel they will break eventually. I would just like to buy that part when it breaks. The case itself looks like it will outlast the phone. Mine fits like a glove, and was easy to assemble. I have (unintentionally) drop tested it a few times and so far it has performed as needed, and shows no wear yet. Buy in stores for $50 (well worth it) or buy on Amazon, patiently wait a few days, and pay less than 1/2.........

Protective? Dang skippy!Nov 12, 2011

I was searching for a case for my wife's new iPhone 4s. She tends to be really hard on her phones, so I was looking for the best protection I could find for her, and this seems like the case to get. All round, best in show. The idea if a case within a case is kind if a no brainier.
Like a lot: - Two cases in one. Inner case with a felt liner. Outer case of impact resistant silicone. - Grippe in that the silicone makes handling very secure. - Covers for all the places where things plug into the phone. - Raised bumps make controlling the various buttons easier than without the case. - Openings for the logo, camera, speakers, etc are perfectly aligned. - screen covers makes using the touch screen a piece of cake. - My old anti-glare screen cover made the screen seem dimmer. The build in screen cover really helps get back that nice retina display goodness. - The Otter box logo embedded in the silicone and the holster is a nice touch. - Like the bump texture in the back side of the case. - The holster is build like a tank, yet very light weight. It ain't breaking soon. - Holster has a rotating clip, so you cam position it any way that works for you. - There are sort of tabs on both sides of the case that link into the holster, so you can wear the phone face-out or face-in. - The tabs are positioned in a way so they don't contact the silicone outer case as you remove it from the holster (great design idea). - Got to get use to trusting a holster over a pouch case. - I like this case so much, I am buying one for my self.
Like so, so: - The protective design of the case makes the phone a little bulkier. But, you are protecting a several hundred dollar investment. The extra bulk ain't that big a deal. I have long fingers, so it fits better in my hand with the case installed. - The case is not water-proof, but that is not what I was buying. However it does seem to give the phone an amount of splash resistances that it otherwise would not have.
