Mediocre.Feb 01, 2011
By Varjohaltia The case wraps the phone in silicone rubber. It does nothing whatsoever to protect the lens or screen. For the screen, it comes with a regular tack-on screen protector which is optically good (crystal clear), but a magnet for oil and dirt and difficult to clean. It's also a fair bit smaller than the phone's screen, so if you align it with the edge of the phone when applying, you'll end up with a pretty big gap on the other side.
The material itself feels nice to the touch, and with the exception of the lanyard attachment and the SIM/SD slots all the phone ports are available, even the charging light has a little window. The volume rocker, menu button and power switch have nubs that allow you to operate them through the rubber; the screen lock slider has a cutout through which you can reach it.
The material and design as such are pretty decent, but aside from protection from drops on the phone's narrow edges it offers no benefit to help keeping the camera safe. It's cheap, about the price of a screen protector, and since it comes with one, I don't feel too badly about having spent the money.

Good ProtectionJul 02, 2011

I prefer this over the 'N8 Gel Case with 6 Screen Protectors and 1 Stylus'.
The N8 camera protrudes further than main phone body, this case contours the camera housing so when on a flat surface, the case, not the camera touches the surface.
All buttons are still easy to access but slightly harder to depress (expected). The lock/unlock slider is left exposed with actually gives your thumb a comfortable place to rest while holding the phone in call.

Nokia N8 Otterbox Impact CaseJul 28, 2011
By ERH I was initially very impressed with this case that I ordered two each for myself and my wife. After a few weeks of use, I have to say that I totally disappointed in fit and finish. It does not fit right. It is definitely too loose on the phone making it hard to access the power button. I wish I can return the other pair but the return window has long passed. Will it protect the phone when it drops? Probably. But for everyday use, this feels like wearing a set of oversized pants that you have to keep pulling up all the time. Overall design is brilliant...manufacturing process and specification may not have taken material expansion during use into account. I will therefore not recommend this product for your fine Nokia N8.

you better prepare to keep the screen protection film foreverJul 21, 2011

the screen protection film ruined my screen! it reduces the sensitivity of the touch screen therefore I took it off after two weeks of usage. however, when I remove the film, it leaves a layer of sticky substances on the screen and detergent (windex, 409..etc) won't get them off!! I have spent hours to scratch them off using my finger nails and there are still residual on my screen.

not sure what to thinkJul 11, 2011
By ynottim I have owned otterbox cases before and they have been great but I have 2 issues with this case first if you are using the speaker on the back and set the phone down on a flat surface the sound becomes very muffled. Second the case has kinda stretched out after 2 months of heavy use, it now seems loose on the phone and lets it slide a bit. This is annoying for call clarity because sometimes the rubber gets over the speaker and you cant hear anything easy to mistake a dropped call.
