 An Excellent Bluetooth HeadsetNov 28, 2011

The Plantonics Calisto-Pro, Bluetooth headset is the only one I have found that works well for me. I have owned three other headset units, each a different, major brand. Not one of them functioned as well in all-round use. This item really does work in windy situations, which I find myself in quite often. It is loud and clear enough for me to hear with a marked hearing disorder. And, it functions very will in use with my Dragon Natural Speak 11.5. It was delivered quickly and worked fine out of the box.

At last a Plantronics unit that is Windows 7 compatible. I searched high and low for such a unit. Sadly the Plantronics website and Amazon.com do not discuss compatibility, so one must learn either by reading all the recommendations, ordering and returning by trial and error, or by searching for an online patch only to find that none are available and there are a many frustrated customers out there. Know that this unit at least in my application is Windows 7 compatible. I am a surgeon running "Dragon Medical" and at least for me, this headset works seamlessly. Good luck to all.

The Plantronics Headset arrived on schedule and is exactly as advertised - and more. I use it primarily with voice recognition software - so microphone quality must be top notch. Once set up on my computer - which was simple - the microphone performance really delivered. The earpiece speaker is a little tiney - but that's not important for my intended use. I do use it as a phone headset sometimes also and in that app it does OK. Primarily, the VR app runs smoothly - much better than with the previous mic. A single charge runs all day (8-10 hours) and the ear comfort is just fine. I forget it's on sometimes. Construction quality is surgical and the - either ear design is very clever.
ps this review was done using the VR system with the Plantronics Headset. No typing anymore!!

I've always been a big fan of Plantronics. Excellent sound quality, and I've used their products in business settings for most of my career. The last two products, however, (both bluetooth devices) did not pan out. Equipment failure. Less than a month after buying this device, it just stopped working... no power. Returning under warranty. I'm really hoping it was a fluke, but it's a such a PIA to buy something at a good-size investment and then be rendered helpless when you really depend on it on a daily basis.
