Some work, some don't. Buy a handful and at least 1 should!Jul 25, 2011
By KainTFM I bought one of these a couple months back as a Samsung Vibrant charger and data cable. Worked fine, and the retractable aspect made it exceptionally pocketable. A week or so ago, I (mistakenly) thought I had lost it somewhere, and bought 5 more just in case, partly because I wasn't sure they would all work, and also because a few friends use micro-USB compatible phones and I could make a couple of them into presents.
Well, they all "work", but they all have different quirks. One is perfect. Another won't retract all the way unless I toss it in the air and let it whip back in fast. Another fits a little too snuggly into the USB slot making it slightly more difficult to remove. Still, I picked up 5 of them for $10, while I could get 1 slightly more reputable one for $8. I feel my money was well spent.

Functional with caveat regarding interferenceJul 10, 2011
By Eric in Vegas This thin micro usb cable works with my Motorola Defy. I use it for travel since it's smaller and easier to transport. The wires themselves are of a small gauge and unshielded without ferrite chokes. While compact, it unfortunately allows passthrough of electromagnetic interference that can occur from some chargers/adapters. In my case, the interference adversely affects the touch screen -- I have to unplug the cable to gain proper control of the phone. No EMI problems when charging from my 12V car USB adapter; only my 120V AC USB adapter. These issues aren't seen with normal shielded cables with chokes. Just something to be aware of....

Boo!Nov 05, 2011

I was so excited to see this product! So compact and neat! I wanted to use them to charge my phone in my car. THEY DON'T WORK! When I contacted the seller, they said that they are for transferring data, not charging devises. The description clearly says they are for charging. The sellers did refund my purchase, but now I have to start the looking process all over again.

By ObviouslyTad I ordered two of these, they arrived quickly and have worked flawlessly for charging and synchronizing/transferring data to/from my laptop.

Also did not work for meJun 21, 2011
By Some Guy Like another reviewer, I purchased two of these to keep one at the office and one in the car so I'd always have a charger handy for my phone (Motorola Atrix, FWIW). I liked the no tangle design and thought it would be perfect for both places. In short, neither fits, so I would warn you that you are gambling with this purchase. Maybe the price is low enough for you to not care, but you may also be throwing a few bucks out the window.
