Wrong CableJul 19, 2011
By polifemus I'm learning how to differentiate between a problem that originates with the vendor and a problem that appears to me to originate from how Amazon places ads on its website and how vendors get orders to fill them.
This website advertises a USB 20-pin Samsung Data Cable, Model# Model #APCBS10UBE. It says that it transfers data between your Samsung mobile phone and your PC AND charges your phone at the same time.
It gives the user multiple vendors to choose from who will then fill the order.
Unfortunately, the order the vendor receives from Amazon is for a Model # APCBS10BBE. I believe this to be true because when I used Amazon's site to generate a complaint to the vendor, Amazon sent out my complaint to the vendor giving the details of my order. The vendor then forwarded Amazon's email to me in their reply. In the email trail you can see that the model number in the Amazon generated email doesn't match the ad.
The only difference is that this 20-pin Samsung cable DOES NOT charge your phone. I verified this information on Samsung's website and through other sites selling this model cable.
Now I wanted the cable for data and I have a charger to charge my phone. So I'm happy.
But if it is crucial that this cable charge your Samsung phone, then know that you may not get the model advertised.

Useless without a driverOct 25, 2011
By J. Love I gave it three stars b/c it was cheap and shipped pretty quickly. The cord I received charges the phone fine, but my intent was to be able to copy the contacts file off the phone as the software on the phone will not allow me to move the contacts to the micro-SD card to transfer them. So, I thought a data cable would solve the problem. Windows found a Samsung driver for the phone, to use it as a modem. However, I cannot find the phone in "my computer" or using windows explorer so that I could browse the files and copy them. I have a Samsung T401G I'm using with Net10. Net10 is a good value for me for talking/texting, but picture messages or any data??? No way. Data speeds are MUCH SLOWER than a slow dial-up connection. I wish I could find a driver to allow me to use this nice cord to transfer files....

Check model numberNov 30, 2010
By bluescorer This model will both upload and download from computer and will also charge from computer. So be vigilant because there is the lesser grade model that won't charge out there.

Company Mistake Made Right!Feb 12, 2012
By Lemon The data cable for a Samsung T404 phoneworks as it should. The problem was, the company sent the wrong one. I emailed them asking how I could arrange to exchange the incorrect one they sent me for the correct one. They emailed back promptly, apologized, and sent me a new cable- the correct one this time, and didn't ask for the incorrect one back. I was pretty surprised. I guess customer service still means something, at least it does to 11th Street Wireless. Bravo, guys!
By the way, if you don't have a car charger for your Samsung phone and want to save yourself a bunch of money, get an inexpensive charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter and accepts a USB input on the other end. Take your new Samsung data cable & plug this cable into your phone on one end and the USB input on the other end. Voila! This option is way cheaper than buying the OEM Samsung dedicated mobile charger, and, now you can use the same device (with the appropriate cable, of course) to charge other electronics while you are on the road.
