good chargerMay 04, 2010

I've used this charger for a day now. I've used it to charge two iPhone 3GS at once, also on an HTC Incredible, Motorola Droid, and HTC Hero. It comes with 3 charging cables: mini, micro, and ipod. It will take any other USB cable you want to shove in there. It's a nice charger becuase it folds up small, and it does AC charging, DC charging, or you can throw in some AA's while you are out and about for some charging. One things is that it didn't give so much power from generic AA's. I tried some from the 99 cent store that didn't work amazing. Then I tried some Mitsubishi Alkaline batteries, and then some generic Ni-MH recharegables and it worked a lot better. Also, one thing is that it ONLY CHARGES ONE DEVICE AT A TIME with AA batteries. By AC and DC it did two iPhones at once.
This charger DOESN'T charge AA batteries. It actually only takes juice FROM them to your phone.
It's a fun toy and it beats the heck out of the ugly oem chargers which can cost just as much at the store.
Also, the quality seems pretty good. The charging is pretty fast.Definitely as good or better than charging by computer USB or other.
One more thing, it will take back-up power from a 9-volt battery also. Same thing as AA batteries.
*****The included cables can also be used for data transfer... this is pretty obvious though I think.

Sweet Charger!Jun 25, 2010
By Aldous Snow Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R7VRQRITHZORJ This is my video review for the Trans4m charger. I apologize about the audio in video, it kind of sucks. Cool charger though for sure. Probably the last charger I'll ever need.

TRANS4M 4-in-1 Compact Cell Phone ChargerMay 27, 2010

Messed around a little charging my HTC Incredible. Also charged my MP3 player.
I used USB batteries, around half charged, 600mAh. They did a fair job of keeping the Incredible charged while I used it. After a few hours or so of part-time use, the charging indicator on the phone disappeared even though the red light on the TRANS4M was still on so I'm not sure if there was a trickle of battery power still going to the phone or not. I unplugged it to see if the batteries continued to drain. After a few hours, the light faded and the batteries were dead.
The DC car plug (folds into the AA battery housing) doesn't lock when out so might flop around if you're on bumpy roads or going over speed bumps.
[Side Note] Not a big deal. I made the mistake of using my other cables and only now discovered the cables that come with the TRANS4M do not work on data transfer. They only charge the device.

Updated - BEWARE - they make you pay for warranty serviceApr 19, 2011
By Everest I bought this item because it sounded good and had mostly positive reviews. It appeared to work well for several months, but I only tried the wall plug in that time. Just recently I tried the 12V plug, which did not work and resulted in a faint smell of fried IC. That same day, the wall plug stopped working as well. I contacted the company for warranty service (3 years are advertised!), and was told that they would be happy to replace it for a $3.99 handling fee! This is in addition to the (understandable) cost of shipping the dead part back to them. So much for their great warranty. There is no indication on their web site or anywhere else I could find that there would be a charge to replace a broken part, and had I known I would have bought a different charger. No way am I going to send them money until they can prove to me that their part will work longer than two months of intermittent use.
[Updated 5/16/11] A few weeks after posting this review I was contacted by the vendor apologizing for the handling fee and offering my a no-cost RMA. I just received the replacement part and so far it is working (wall plug and 12V connector tested). I am not ready to up the rating until I have used it more, but I am hopeful...
[Updated 5/26/11] After a week or so of use, the new unit appears to be working, and I tried all of the inputs right away this time. I like the features of this product a lot, and the vendor did do the right thing the seond time around.

Everything I wanted!Jan 19, 2011
By B. Cook On our last vacation, I lost my AC adapter for my Droid Incredible. As I went looking for a replacement (very careful to make sure I got a rapid charger, operating faster than a normal PC usb). When I found this one, I didn't know if it would work. OH MAN! It charges off the wall as fast as my OEM charger (less than an hour; very fast). My wife and I regularly have my Droid and her iPod Touch plugged in charging at the same time.
It works great on road trips, as we both have rapid chargers for our devices (the two usb plugs work in tandem at the same time), and I plan on taking this on bike tour next summer, knowing that I may be able to use the AA batteries in my flashlights to recharge my Droid (for the GPS) when I'm completely off grid. I have not checked 9v batteries yet. And, of note, I did attempt to use 14500 Lithium Ion batteries; but got a warning screen from the Droid to unplug the charger. :(
Oh, man, this thing is more than I ever expected for under $20. Highly recommend!
