I have the iphone 4s and this bumpercase fits perfectly. All the buttons, switches and mic holes align exactly as they should. I have seen the apple version as well and this case looks and feels the same to me. It has the metal volume buttons the silence button is not blocked.
Word of warning... When it comes to charging your phone with this case on, the charger that came with my iphone is the only one that fits. I have to take off the case if i am charging with a 3rd party charger i.e. car charger or ihome. this may be a game changer for some people.

As good as Apple's bumper, if not, betterDec 09, 2011

I knew what I was buying before making this purchase. This was not a genuine Apple bumper. So why did I buy it? This is as good, if not, better than Apple's bumper. Apple's original bumpers are nothing special and they don't receive good reviews either. I have used the real Apple bumpers since the iPhone 4 first came out starting with the black ones. Let me tell you this, the Apple's bumpers fade and break just as easily as "most" non-Apple bumpers that I have purchased. Each of my Apple bumpers broke within 3-6 months, these last just as long. They pretty much break and became a pain to use when the otter rubber (softer part) starts to breaks apart and separate from the center (harder part). The reviewers below probably received some bad ones, but the one I received from seller iCustomized LLC worked great when I got it.
I'm going to describe the white bumper I received to use on my white iPhone 4s 64GB AT&T after I couldn't use a similar white bumper from my iPhone 4 because the vibrate switch hole did not align with the 4s. This bumper definitely has a softer material than Apple's bumper, but I like the feel a lot better than Apple's. Everything including the vibrate switch hole aligns with the iPhone 4s. The buttons work perfectly like the Apple ones. They stick out and do not get stuck one bit. I've received two lower quality ones for my iPhone 4 in the past when the buttons don't stick out well and just don't feel correct but they weren't from different sellers so I guess some sellers have better quality bumpers than others. You know you have good buttons when you can hear the buttons being pressed on the volume and power. I agree with one of the reviews that the buttons are volume and home buttons are not as shiny as Apple's and they will fade faster than Apple's, but that's not a big deal as the bumpers will probably start to break before the buttons' silver color starts completely fades. You will get just as much protection from this as the original Apple bumper, just because this one is a bit softer doesn't mean it'll take away any protection.
For this price, Apple's bumper can't touch this. Even at $10, I can buy 3 of these instead of 1 from Apple. Each of these will last just as long as the Apple's. You can have 3 of these for the price of 1 Apple bumper, which means 3x longer for the price. I am 100% sure this will drop in price to below $3-5 a piece while Apple's will remain high as ever. Similar bumpers like these for the 4 were high when they first came out, but I've bought them at couple dollars a piece shipped shortly after. Sure, you can get cheaper genuine Apple bumpers from other online places, but each one of them will always be higher than one of these.

When this bumper breaks, I'll be back to buy one. I'm sure by the time I come back, the prices will be lowered than what I originally paid for and many sellers will be selling these. The 5 star rating is for the comparison to Apple's bumper and most importantly, the price.
The concept of the bumper case itself will probably never receive a 5 star rating since they only provide minimal protection and none (Apple and third-party bumpers) I've used lasted long like a regular full cover case. But it's great for somebody like me, who hates full cover cases and don't worry about breaking the screen when dropped. BTW, I've yet to drop AND break the screen or phone since my first cell. Then again, I can fix iPhones so that gives me a better peace of mind when purchasing a bumper.

For those looking for an imitation bumper that will fit the iPhone 4S, this is it. I have the genuine Apple white bumper to compare to and can confirm that all the cutouts (mute switch, microphone, speaker, and 30-pin connector) are identical. It gets an extra star for the fit.
Other than having accurate cutouts, everything else about this bumper is inferior.
Color - the Apple bumper is white in the middle with light grey on the front and back. This imitation is supposed to be "white" all around and it does look ok on its own, but when put next to the white of the Apple bumper, it becomes yellowy.
Durability - the genuine bumper is rigid and has a snappy feel to it. This imitation is not as rigid, it feels more plasticky. Those that had experienced with the genuine bumper will know that it can be hard to put on and take off because it is so stiff. This bumper is more flexible and therefore rolls on and off easily. I also wouldn't trust this bumper to protect my iPhone, it feels less adequate.
Feel - the Apple case is smooth to the feel. This case is unpolished and has a rough feel due to the rubber mold residue.
Workmanship - The metal button is not as shiny as Apple's bumper. It looks dull.
Quality - I ordered two cases and this is the reason I ended up returning both. I can put up with everything, but their is a defect with the metal on/off button. The metal button would pop up with the iPhone installed and you can't push it back down. This happened on both bumper that I ordered, therefore it is a consistent defect.
Given that it is almost $10, I rather spend $20 more and get the real thing.

Item was shipped fast and packaged well.
Case fits fine (iphone 4s).. all buttons and plugs are aligned. Metal buttons sit over the volume + and -... these work fine.
My only gripe is the material. I expected it to be more rubberized. It's a plastic strip with rubber on the edges. Definitely gets the job done for the $ though.

Paid about $6 for this bumper, I ordered it from one of the vendors on Amazon Prime. I read a lot of amazon reviews on cheap bumpers because I didn't want to pay 20 or 25$ that apple was charging. I have played with the apple bumper and it's nice. This bumper is almost as nice but not quite. The rubber on the edges is softer than the apple bumper and it looks like it discolors easier. Mine is slightly yellow after a weeks use. It's not noticeable unless you are holding it against the apple bumper. I actually like this one better since its softer and i tend to drop my phone a lot.
I read some comments about the bumper being too loose which is bogus. The apple cover is super tight but this one is about perfect.
One thing was when i received the bumper the sleep button on was noticeably lopsided which made the whole bumper cheap looking, but still functional. I thought it was a simple case of you get what you pay for. A week later i took the bumper off and was playing with it and i pinched the sleep button and it snapped back into place so now it's perfectly even.
Definitely would recommend this bumper to anyone. Why pay 5x the price for a slightly better finish?
