Must have for smart phones, iPods and digital camerasMay 28, 2010

I can't tell you how much I love this product. I have an iPhone. The normal battery life is ok but not that great. I was at an all day event and needed to check my emails multiple times and be ready for a call from home as I had a sitter there. My phone started to die. A friend loaned me her iGo. I plugged it into my phone for just a little bit (I was worried about using all her spare energy), maybe 20 minutes. I had enough juice in my iPhone for another hour, maybe more, I don't know because after that I put it on my car charger. Anyway, that was my first intro to iGo.
I have a website. I received an iGo charger complimentary to test. Let me say, I NEVER also write Amazon reviews for things I receive in a similar nature. For the sake of disclaimer I have to throw this out there, but let me clarify I live in La Jolla and I can buy my own gadgets. :)
All that aside, I LOVE THIS. I probably would pay 3x the price for it because for my lifestyle, I need the extra charge. We travel a lot overseas. This does not need a voltage converter which for me is huge since we travel to London and Hong Kong a lot where the voltage is different (you'll still need a cheap plug converter, but not an actual voltage converter). It's small and I don't notice it in my purse or diaper bag. My daughter has an iTouch that she plays educational games on and all sorts of other electronic devices. iGo can boost almost all of them. For a long haul flight, this is a necessity for parents and children.
And how awful is it when the battery in your digital camera dies? I am constantly forgetting to monitor the battery life in my camera. I'm a busy mom, I forget. So now I don't have to worry about it since I have an iGo.
My husband is so sold on iGo (we have a Power Smart Tower too) that we're going to buy the Laptop Anywhere Charger and a bunch of the Power Smart Wall plugs as a part of our going green strategy. He's been asking forever to look into products that prevent vampire electrical usage (is that the right term?).
Sorry, don't mean to sound like an iGo commercial but we're just honest fans. Try it, you'll like it. Everyone I know that has one loves it.

Well made and dependableSep 05, 2010
By nybiblio I have this, a solar powered battery charger and the full iGo charger for laptops. This little unit is the one I found most useful during my recent travels in an undeveloped country. This charger is compact, light and best of all, provides a full charge for my iPad, iPod and Droid. That said, it isn't possible to charge an iPad and any other gadget at the same time. The iPad pulls down too much power, but it is possible to charge two lower power items (i.e., a Droid and iPod Touch) simultaneously.
You do not need to purchase iGo cables and tips if you prefer not to - except for the iPad. The USB slot accepts the cables which were sent with your gadgets.
NOTE: The correct iGo tip for iPad is the A61, which is an older tip from the days of the first iPod. The current iPod tip (A133, or something like that) won't work for the iPad.

Great Idea but doesn't charge everythingAug 13, 2011
By C. A. Bunnell I wish I could give this a positive review because it's a great idea. I bought this at the recommendation of my Verizon salesperson, for a backup, portable charging unit while on the go. It's a great idea, but this just doesn't have enough juice to charge my Motorola Droid 3. I thought there was something wrong with the unit when I plugged it in to my Droid, it lit up for about 15 seconds then shut off. I made sure the unit was fully charged, tried it with my phone turned completely off and on. Still wouldn't stay on long enough to even make a call. I tried it on a smaller LG flip phone and it worked fine. The salesman at the store plugged it into his Droid, but I don't know what version (it wasn't the 3)and it stayed on as well. I even exchanged it for another identical unit, thinking the unit itself was bad, but it did the same thing. So while it works for less powerful phones, it doesn't work for the Morotola Droid 3.

Fast charge rate, Wont charge HTC thunderbolt CompletelyJun 26, 2011
By F. Jaros
"Solstice first 1000"
I agree with the 1 star Reviewer.
This will charge my HTC Thunderbolt only 50 % then DIE.
For example, Phone started at 20%, after an hour of charging, it was at 70% and the IGO was dead. The next cycle, the Phone was at 10%, and after one hour of charging, it was at 65% and the IGO was dead
It does work, Very expensive for only a 50% increase in power.
The new TRENT IMP50D is better, That battery will charge the thunderbolt only 1.5 TIMES, but the charge rate is very slow.
